About the Author
Darren R. Rousar, editor and publisher of Landscape Painting, studied privately with Richard Lack and attended Atelier LeSueur, both in Minnesota, as well as Studio Cecil-Graves in Florence, Italy. This is a reprint of letters written to starting artists in the mid 1800's. The advice given was interesting and will give you new ideas as to how to approach landscape painting but I was looking for a "primer". Printed in black and white with few illustrations it was not what I was looking for. I should have read the reviews to have an idea of this book first to better assess wether it fit my needs.
