The explanations are mediocre. The Dan Fullerton book has better explanations. Also does not contain many practice questions. There are some decent discussion in some places but that's about it. The Dan Fullerton book for reading and explanations and a textbook (Giancoli) for conceptual questions and problems along with something like Albert.IO and past exams for practice seems to be the better way to to go. Also use TIPERS for concepts building. I am really not sure why Reddit goes Gung Ho about this 5 steps book.
The content of the book is good. Good review questions, includes most everything you need to know, and simplifies the practice test process.However, do not expect to receive "Cross-Platform Content" with the Kindle version. There is no front or back cover on the ebook and therefore you do not get a digital access code. I talked to 3 forms of Amazon customer service and 3 forms of McGraw Hill customer service, with both telling me that it was the other company's fault. Do not expect a third practice test or other preparation materials. To be safe, just buy a physical copy to make sure you get a code and save yourself the aggravation.
